The Header Builder documentation explains how to design and implement a custom navigation area that replaces the theme’s default header. By using the dedicated Header template type, you can build complex layouts including sticky navigation, transparent effects, and unique mobile menus.
Create the Header Template #
To start, you must initialize the header within the Theme Helper library:
- Access: Navigate to Digishift Studio > Theme Helper in your WordPress sidebar.
- Add New: Click the Add New Template button at the top of the screen.
- Identify: Enter a name in the Add Title field (e.g., “Main Header”) to organize it in your library.
Configure Header Settings #
Before building the design, you must set the behavior and technical framework for the header:
- Template Type: Select “Header” from the dropdown menu to register this template as a site-wide navigation element.
- Post Attributes: In the right sidebar, change the Template selection to Elementor Canvas. This provides a blank canvas that prevents the theme’s default header code from interfering with your custom design.
- Display Rules: Use the Display Rules section to assign the header to the Entire Site or specific pages.
- Exclusion Rules: Define any specific pages where you do not want this header to appear.
Publish to Edit #
To ensure all conditional logic and attributes are correctly saved to the database, you must publish the template first:
- Publish: Click the Publish button in the top-right panel.
- Open Editor: After the page refreshes, click the Edit with Elementor button. This launches the visual builder where you can drag and drop widgets like the Digishift Menu Widget to complete your design.
