The Footer Builder allows you to design and manage a custom footer area that replaces the default theme footer. Using the Theme Helper, you can create multiple footer designs and assign them to different parts of your website using advanced display logic.
Create the Footer Template #
To begin, you must add a new footer entry to your Theme Helper library:
- Access: Navigate to Digishift Studio > Theme Helper in the WordPress sidebar.
- Add New: Click the Add New Template button.
- Identify: Enter a name in the Add Title field (e.g., “Global Site Footer”) to help you identify it later.
Configure Footer Settings #
Set up the core functionality and visibility rules before you start designing:
- Template Type: Select “Footer” from the dropdown menu to register this template as a site-wide footer element.
- Post Attributes: In the right-hand sidebar, set the Template dropdown to Elementor Canvas. This ensures you have a clean workspace without any theme-default styling interference.
- Display Rules: Use the Display Rules section to assign this footer to the Entire Site, or specific areas like Archives or Singular pages.
- Exclusion Rules: Add rules here if you want to hide the footer on specific pages, such as “Coming Soon” or specialized landing pages.
Publish to Edit #
Saving your settings to the database is a required step before the visual builder can be used effectively:
- Publish: Click the Publish button in the top-right corner of the screen.
- Open Editor: Once the template is published, click the Edit with Elementor button to launch the drag-and-drop interface. Here you can add widgets for your logo, social links, copyright text, and more.
