The Blogs Widget V3 offers a distinct, often more modern and detailed layout for displaying your blog posts compared to the standard Blogs Widget. It provides enhanced metadata and unique styling options.

Post Settings: #

This widget includes additional toggle options for post metadata, giving you more control over the information displayed.

• Column: Set the number of posts per row in the grid.
• Equal Height: Enable making all postcards the same height.
• Height: If using equal height, define the fixed height in pixels (e.g., 100px).
• Image Size: Choose the WordPress image size for the post thumbnail (e.g., Full, Original).
• Post Date: Show or hide the publication date. In V3, this is often styled in a unique way (e.g., split day and month).
• Post Category: Show or hide the assigned categories.
• Post Comment Count: Show or hide the number of comments.
• Post Author: Show or hide the author’s name and byline (e.g., By swarapan).
• Read More: Show or hide the “Read More” button/link.
• Read More Text: Customize the text of the “Read More” button (e.g., Read More). You can use the “Write with AI” assistant to generate text.
• Open Link in New Tab: Choose whether the “Read More” link opens in the same browser tab or a new one.

Query Settings: #

Control which posts are displayed, just like in the standard widget.

• Source: Typically set to ‘Posts’.
• Posts Per Page: Define the number of posts to show. Set to -1 to show all.
• Date, Order By, Order, Ignore Sticky Posts: Standard WordPress query parameters to filter and order posts.

Style Tab #

The Style tab provides detailed styling options tailored to the V3 layout.

You can style the following parts:

• Content / Card Style: Style the main container for each post.
  • Content Background: Set a background color for the entire card in both Normal and Hover states.
  • Padding: Adjust the internal spacing within the card (e.g., 30px on all sides).
  • Border Radius: Round the corners of the card (e.g., 10px on all sides).
  • Box Shadow: Apply and customize a shadow effect for depth.
• Title: Style the post title.
  • Color: Set the color for both Normal and Hover states.
  • Typography: Control font family, size, weight, and line height.
• Excerpt: Style the short post summary text.
  • Color: Set the text color for normal and hover states.
  • Typography: Control the font properties of the excerpt.
• Meta: This widget offers advanced styling for post metadata, often displayed in a more prominent way.
  • Typography (Global): Style all meta text.
  • Color & Icon Color: Set colors for meta text and any accompanying icons.
  • Date: Style the date text specifically, including its Background if it’s in a special badge or container.
  • Category/Author/Comment Text: Style these elements individually.
• Read More: Style the “Read More” button/link.
  • Typography: Style the button text for Normal and Hover states.
  • Color: Set the text color for the button.

• Enhanced Meta Display: V3 often displays the date in a split format (e.g., 19 Jul) and includes the author’s name directly (By swarapan), providing richer context at a glance.
