Digishift Services: Showcasing Your Offerings #
The Digishift Services module lets you showcase your business offerings directly within your theme. This built-in, flexible, and fully customizable feature allows you to create service lists, detail pages, and service grids that seamlessly integrate with your website’s design.
Creating and Managing Services #
- Navigate to your WordPress Dashboard.
- Find the Services menu item in the sidebar (located within the Digishift Studio admin menu).
- To add a new service, click Add New.
- Enter a Title: Use a clear, descriptive title (e.g., “Web Design,” “Digital Marketing”).
- Add a Description: Use the WordPress editor to add detailed content about the service. This can include text, images, videos, or shortcodes.
- Configure Service Settings: Below the editor, you will find the “Service Settings” meta-box. This is where you can add a short Subtitle or tagline that will appear next to or below the main service title in grid or list views.
- Set a Featured Image: Upload an image to visually represent the service. This image is typically used in service grid layouts.
- Publish: Click Publish to make the service live on your site.
Organizing Services with Categories #
To group your services (e.g., “Design,” “Development,” “Marketing”), use the built-in categorization system.
- Creating a Category: While editing a service, find the “Categories” meta-box on the right. You can type a new category name and click Add New Category. Alternatively, go to Services > Categories to manage them all in one place.
- Assigning a Category: Simply check the box next to the relevant category for your service. This allows you to filter and display specific groups of services anywhere on your site.
Displaying Services with the Digishift Services Elementor Widget (Recommended) #
The most powerful way to display your services is using the dedicated Elementor widget.
- Edit any page or template with Elementor.
- In the Elementor editor panel, search for the “Digishift Services” widget.
- Drag and drop the widget into your desired section.
- Configure the widget settings in the panel:
Content Tab Options: #
- Source: Choose to display All Services or select a Specific Category to filter them.
- Layout: Choose between a Grid, List, or Carousel layout (options depend on theme features).
- Columns: Set how many services are shown per row.
- Show Subtitle: Toggle the visibility of the subtitle text entered in the Service Settings meta-box.
- Show Excerpt: Toggle the visibility of the service description.
- Show Image: Toggle the display of the featured image.
- Read More Button: Add a link to the individual service detail page.
Tips and Best Practices #
- Use the Subtitle: The subtitle field is perfect for a concise value proposition or key benefit (e.g., “Web Design” as a title, with “Convert More Visitors into Customers” as the subtitle).
- Consistent Images: Use service images of equal dimensions for a clean, uniform grid layout.
- Clear Titles: Keep service names short, descriptive, and impactful.
- SEO Optimization: Write detailed service descriptions incorporating relevant keywords for search engines.
- Categorize Smartly: Use categories to make filtering easier for your users and to organize your own work.
- Mobile Responsiveness: Always preview your service layouts on mobile devices to ensure text is readable and the design adapts correctly.
