The Blocks documentation explains how to create reusable content sections that can be inserted anywhere on your site using shortcodes or automated hooks. This “build once, use anywhere” system is ideal for call-to-action sections, custom banners, or content blocks that need to appear across multiple pages.

Create a New Block #

To begin, you must initialize the block entry within the Theme Helper library:

  • Access: Navigate to Digishift Studio > Theme Helper in your WordPress sidebar.
  • Add New: Click the Add New Template button.
  • Identify: Enter a descriptive name in the Add Title field (e.g., “Promotion Banner”).

Configure Block Settings & Attributes #

Define how the block will be integrated into your site before starting the design:

  • Template Type: Select Block from the dropdown menu to register this template as a reusable component.
  • Post Attributes: In the right sidebar, change the Template selection to Elementor Canvas to ensure your block is designed on a completely blank slate.
  • Publish: Click the Publish button in the top-right panel to save your configuration.

Implementation: Shortcodes & Block Hooks #

Once the template type is set to Block, a new Block Hooks panel will appear with two main methods for implementation:

Method A: Custom (Shortcode) #

This is the most flexible method, allowing you to manually place your block anywhere that supports text or shortcodes.

  • Copy Shortcode: Locate the generated shortcode (e.g., ) in the Block Hooks panel and click Copy.
  • Library Access: You can also quickly find and copy the shortcode for any block directly from the main Theme Helper library list under the “Shortcode” column.

Method B: Block Hooks #

Instead of manual placement, you can use Block Hooks to automatically inject your block into specific theme locations:

  • Before Header: Automatically places the block above the site navigation.
  • After Header: Automatically places the block below the site navigation.
  • Before Footer: Injects the block directly above the site footer.
  • After Footer: Places the block at the very bottom of the page.

Edit with Elementor #

After publishing and choosing your implementation method, click the Edit with Elementor button. Use the visual builder to design your block content with full drag-and-drop freedom.
